how do you get such crisp snaps??

The snap itself is EQed, compression, EQed again, Reverb, Compresssion, mutliband limited, and finally limited on the master buss. It's layered with a triangle hit, 2 snares, and a clap.

The key to "crispness" is proper application of EQ and Compression when and where it's needed.

take some time and eq your song. it has a lot of great elements to it. i'm feeling more of a progressive drum and bass from what you have presented.

every instrument can't be at the same frequency make sure to check your peaks before you dive into a beat. could be a matter of what headphones or speakers your using to hear a differential

Yeah I think the problem was I added way too many instruments, but didn't utilize them correctly. I'm thinking of updating this beat to make them harmonize together a little better, maybe do a little refining on the mastering side of things. Thanks for the review, I love getting opinions on my work, as it helps me improve as an artist.
